ReptiDex can track when a UVB bulb was last replaced and when its rated life ends. Record the fixture where it actually serves your animals: on one animal for an individual lamp, or on a group when several animals share a fixture. A UVB schedule is distinct from an enclosure equipment entry. The equipment list can describe a UVB lamp, but the animal or group replacement record drives the bulb badge and reminder.
Log a replacement
Open an animal profile or a group detail screen and choose Track UVB or Log UVB Replacement. Enter the actual Replacement date, select the rated Bulb life, and optionally name the bulb. The available schedules are six months for T8, CFL, or MVB fixtures and twelve months for T5 HO linear fixtures. Twelve months is selected by default, so check the manufacturer's guidance before saving. The date is a local calendar date, which keeps the due day stable across time zones. Logging a new replacement resets the next due date from that replacement date. Use the optional bulb field to identify the fixture, but do not put private account details in it.
An animal UVB schedule
Understand animal and group schedules
A group schedule covers members without their own UVB setting. An animal-level schedule is an explicit override and takes precedence over every group it belongs to. If an animal belongs to multiple UVB-enabled groups and has no override, the group with the earliest known due date governs. That helps avoid a later group schedule hiding a bulb that needs attention sooner. If no applicable schedule exists, the animal has no UVB badge. Check group membership and the animal's own UVB record if the displayed date differs from what you expect.
Read the status and reminders
The badge is green while the bulb has time left, amber in the last 30 days, and red after the due date. Open Settings > Notifications and check UVB Reminders if you want notifications when a tracked bulb reaches the end of its rated life. The setting is enabled by default, but a bulb record and device or browser permission are still needed for a useful reminder. Turning the toggle off does not delete the schedule or hide the badge. When you replace the bulb, log the new date on the same animal or group rather than changing only a note or dismissing the prompt. If a reminder seems absent, confirm the active collection, the governing schedule, the due date, and notification permission.
