- Train and improve our AI morph identification model (see below)
AI Morph Identifier and Image Processing
ReptiDex includes an AI-powered morph identification feature. When you submit a photo through this feature, the following occurs:
- Your image is sent to our servers for processing by a machine learning model hosted on AWS SageMaker.
- The image and the model's prediction results are stored securely in our database to support quality review and model improvement.
- Our team may manually review submitted images to verify prediction accuracy and curate training data.
- Reviewed images may be included in future model training datasets to improve identification accuracy for all users.
Images submitted through the public demo (no account required) are also stored and subject to the same review and training process.
We only store photos of animals submitted explicitly through the identifier feature. These images are kept in a private, access-controlled storage bucket and are never sold or shared with third parties outside of our hosting infrastructure.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase - Database, authentication, and file storage (data hosted in US/EU regions)
- AWS SageMaker - Machine learning inference for the AI morph identifier
- Sentry - Error monitoring and crash reporting
- RevenueCat - Subscription management and billing
- PostHog - Product analytics and usage tracking
These services may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies. We ensure all third-party processors comply with applicable data protection regulations.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us at privacy@reptidex.com.

You have the right to:

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
