Feeder inventory shows what you have on hand and can reduce a matching stock balance when you log a feeding. Set up a stock item for each feeder type, size, and live or frozen form that you want to track. A feeding remains a care record even when you choose not to deduct stock.
Create and manage stock
Open Settings > Feeder inventory and select Add feeder. Enter the feeder type, optional size, live or frozen form, whole-number quantity on hand, and a low stock threshold. Leave Deduct matching feedings automatically on if matching logged feedings should change this balance. Save one stock item per combination you actually keep; separate live and frozen stock is useful when both are available. The list shows quantity and flags Low stock or Negative stock when a balance needs attention. Free collections can keep three active feeder stock definitions; Pro and Premium can keep more. The limit counts stock definitions, not individual feeders.
Use Restock to add new feeders. Use Adjust to correct a count after a physical inventory or loss. Edit changes the stock description, threshold, and automatic deduction setting; quantity changes go through Restock or Adjust so corrections are explicit. Archive removes an item from the active list when you no longer track it; archived stock can be viewed separately. A low stock preference is available, but automatic low stock notifications are not available yet. Check the inventory list for the current balance.

Connect feedings to stock
When you log a feeding from an animal, a group shortcut, or the collection's quick feeding flow, use the Inventory deduction choice. Automatic match uses the feeder type, size, and form from the feeding to find an eligible stock item with automatic deduction enabled. You can instead choose a specific eligible stock or Do not deduct inventory. Enter a whole-number quantity for a feeding that should change stock. If live and frozen entries both match, select the intended one. Review the inventory outcome in feeding history and the stock list after saving.
Choose inventory deduction on a feeding
Resolve an unexpected balance
A refused feeding does not deplete stock. An unmatched feeding, an opted-out deduction, or a quantity that cannot be matched also leaves stock unchanged; the feeding itself can still be saved. Check spelling, size, form, quantity, and the stock's automatic deduction setting if you expected a reduction. A stock balance can become negative, which signals that recorded use exceeded the available count. Restock or Adjust after checking your physical inventory, rather than changing a past care record solely to make the balance look positive.
