Use Today and Reminders

Workflow overview

Follow these steps in ReptiDex. Controls may vary by platform.

  1. Review Today
  2. Complete due work
  3. Log the animal history

Open Today for a view of work and reminders due now. Use the linked animal or task to see its context before marking anything complete.

Read the Today screen

Today brings due work together for the active collection. Weigh-ins Due points to animals awaiting a measurement. Feedings Due Today shows feeding work and a quick logging path. Care Tasks Due has tasks you can mark done. The screen can also show environment checks, Upcoming Hatches, and Recent Activity. Open a row for more context before acting. If a section has more results than fit on the dashboard, use its View all link. A quiet screen can mean there is no due work, or that the animal, schedule, or collection has not been set up yet.

Complete work and keep history

A due item is a prompt, not the care record itself. Record the feeding, measurement, shed, or enclosure observation in the matching flow. For a scheduled task, use Done when the work is complete. Visit the animal or task afterward to confirm the event appears in its history. If Today cannot load a section, use its refresh control and then check the destination page. Upcoming hatch dates are estimates for planning, so update clutch outcomes from what you observe.

Choose reminders

Open Settings > Notifications to turn weight reminders, low-weight alerts, weight-trend alerts, hatch reminders, UVB bulb reminders, breeding-cycle milestone reminders, and other available notifications on or off. Weight cadence, thresholds, and advance notice for hatches have their own settings when the corresponding toggle is on. The device or browser may also need notification permission. Notification delivery and the Today dashboard are separate: you can still open Today and record care if you turn prompts off. If a reminder seems wrong, check the animal's latest care entry, the active collection, and the relevant notification setting before changing its cadence.

Check specialty reminders

UVB Reminders alert you when a tracked bulb approaches the end of its rated life for an animal or group. Set up the bulb details first; the notification switch cannot infer an installation date. Breeding Cycle Reminders cover milestones in the breeding timeline, and Hatch Reminders use the expected hatch date and advance notice you choose. If one is missing, check the underlying bulb or breeding record, then the matching toggle in Settings > Notifications. Low-stock feeder notifications are not available yet, so check Settings > Feeder inventory for its current balance.
