Overview

Giant day geckos are vibrant green arboreal lizards from Madagascar. Unlike most geckos, they are diurnal (active during the day) and known for their stunning coloration. They are best as display animals rather than pets for handling due to their delicate skin and flighty nature.

Common Health Issues

Skin tears from handling, MBD, dehydration, respiratory infections from improper humidity, and stress-related issues.

Special Notes

Giant day geckos can live 10-15 years. They are highly territorial and should be housed individually. Females may tolerate each other but monitor closely. They lack eyelids and lick their eyes to keep them clean. Best suited for experienced keepers due to their specific care requirements.
