Crested Gecko morph
Crested Gecko (Correlophus ciliatus)
Heterozygous Highway morph displaying pinning that bleeds inward over dorsum, distinct pebbly scalation, and orange wash at hatch that fades with age. Third allele in the Sable/Cappuccino allelic complex. High-expression animals show solid dorsal appearance; low-expression animals show empty-back-like effect. Source: Omni Geckos (omnigeckos.com/highway/), MorphMarket (community.morphmarket.com/t/highway-crested-gecko-done/48223).
Third allele in the Sable/Cappuccino allelic complex. Incomplete dominant trait affecting coloration and dorsal pattern expression. Highway x Cappuccino and Highway x Sable produce distinct compound heterozygote phenotypes.
How to identify it: Highway het animals show pinning that bleeds or drips inward over the dorsum. Distinct pebbly scalation texture. Orange wash at hatch fades with age.
Highway follows a incomplete dominant inheritance pattern, carried on the Highway allele (locus HWY).
Super Highway (homozygous HWY/HWY) has documented health complications. Use caution in pairing planning. Source: Omni Geckos (omnigeckos.com/highway/).
Highway Cappuccino
Compound heterozygote carrying Highway and Cappuccino at the same locus (SA/CAPP/HWY allelic complex). HEALTH NOTE: some Highway x Cappuccino compound hets have documented nostril reduction and associated breathing complications. Severity varies. Community naming is still forming -- "Highway Cappuccino" is a working descriptor. Source: Omni Geckos (omnigeckos.com/highway/).
Highway Sable
Compound heterozygote carrying Highway and Sable at the same locus (SA/CAPP/HWY allelic complex). Distinct phenotype from either Highway/+ or Sable/+ alone. Community naming is still forming -- "Highway Sable" is a working descriptor. No documented health issues. Source: Omni Geckos (omnigeckos.com/highway/).
